Dons Have Strong Showing Against Four-Year Schools

The men's and women's cross country teams took on primarily four-year universities at the Titan Invitational held by California State University, Fullerton. The Dons continued their string of strong races as Toni Lopez and Geovany Garcia represented the top community college runners in both races.

In the women's race, Lopez finished seventh overall with a time of 18:22.77 in the 5K race. She was one of only three Dons in the race with Maria Baeza finishing 74th and Jazlin Madrid finishing 82nd.

The men, however, had a scoring team and finished fifth with Garcia leading the way. His time of 25:31.95 in the 8K race was the best performance by a community college runner. Ramiro Santos was the next Don across the finish line in 30th place followed by Edwin Ortiz-Lopez in 48th, Brian Ambrocio in 55th and Adrian Hernandez in 66th.

This race was the Dons final tune up before the Orange Empire Conference Championships, held on October 30 at Mason Regional Park in Irvine. The women run at 9:00 a.m. with the men following at 10:00 a.m.
