Leef and Ward Claim All-OEC Honors

SANTA ANA, Calif. – On Monday, May 1st the head coaches of the Orange Empire Conference gathered to select the 2017 All-OEC Baseball teams.

Dons freshman outfielder Bryan Leef was one out of four outfielders in the conference to be named to the 2017 All-OEC First Team. Leef posted an average of .317, with two home runs, nine stolen bases and was third in the conference in runs batted in at 34.

Santa Ana's Nigel Ward was selected to the Starting Pitchers All-OEC Second team. The freshman was tied for fourth in the conference for wins at seven and took fifth in strikeouts with 62 on the season.

Leef and Ward look to help the #14 Dons advance in post-season play as they take on #3 College of the Canyons in a best out of three series starting Friday, May 5th. Game one will begin at 2:00 p.m. at College of the Canyons.
