SAC Baseball Set for 2020, No. 5 in SoCal Pre-Season Rankings

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana College baseball team is ready to begin the 2020 season with its opener on the road on January 24th against San Diego Mesa.

The Dons will be bringing back a handful of sophomores including Pre-season All-Americans Frank Garcia and James Williams.

Garcia hit a team high .387 batting average to go with 15 runs batted in and was named to the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team. Williams led the Dons in both hits and walks in 2019 while racking up 32 RBI's to earn All-OEC Second Team honors.

Santa Ana will also return some quality arms with guys like Josh Haley, Joel Casillas and Dane Baker back for their sophomore seasons. The Don pitching staff hopes to stay healthy and improve a 4.52 team earned run average that ranked 35th in the state last year.

The California Community College Baseball Coaches Association have Santa Ana ranked fifth in Southern California in its pre-season rankings after a 25-17 finish to the 2019 season. If the Dons can stay healthy, they have a chance to do even better.
