Haley and Garcia Lead Dons to Bounce Back Win over Glendale

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Santa Ana baseball (13-2) got back on track with a 4-2 win over a solid Glendale (11-3) team on Tuesday in non-conference action.

Josh Haley turned in another impressive pitching performance, going six and two third innings with just an unearned run. Haley lowered his ERA to 3.19 and struck out four on his way to his fourth win of the year.

Offensively, the Dons were held in check until the sixth inning when Frank Garcia unloaded on a pitch, sending it over left field fence with two runners on to give Santa Ana a 3-1 lead. SAC added another run later in the inning on a Glendale error to make it a 4-1 game.

Kyle Hoskins notched his seventh save of the season after taking over for the last 2.1 innings, allowing one run and striking out three to close it out.

UP NEXT: The Dons will be at home again on Thursday for the second game of its series against LA Valley (7-7). Santa Ana took game one 3-1 earlier this month. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
