Bartlett Launches Two Homers to Lift Dons to 5-1 Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Austin Bartlett launched two homeruns over the right field fence to lift the Santa Ana baseball team to a 5-1 win against the Chaffey Panthers (7-5) on Thursday in non-conference action.

The win marks 10 straight for the Dons, who's last loss was back on January 28th at Ventura College (8-6).

Bartlett's first homer came with two outs and one on in the third inning, giving the Dons a 3-1 lead as well as all the momentum going forward.

Santa Ana added another run in the fifth inning when James Williams singled home Kyle Morrell to make it 4-1. Bartlett followed that with a solo homerun in the bottom of the eighth to push the lead out a little further and improve his batting average to .481 with 17 runs batted in.

Kiki Wallander earned his first win of the season after coming out of the bullpen and going four scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Cade Nash got the start and lasted two innings, conceding just one run. Kyle Hoskins finished things up with his sixth save of the year as he threw the last 1.1 innings.

UP NEXT: Santa Ana will take its 10 game winning streak and 12-1 record into Saturday's non-conference matchup with San Diego Mesa. The Dons defeated SD Mesa 7-5 in their first game of the season.
