Dons Doomed by Three-Pointer in 72-52 Loss to West Los Angeles

SANTA ANA - The Dons lost their home opener 72-52 against West Los Angeles College to fall to 2-4 on the season. The Wildcats remained undefeated at 3-0 with the 20-point lead.

West LA held just a four-point lead at the half after leading by as many as 10 points at 19-9 early on. But the Wildcats pulled away from the Dons in the second half, outscoring the home team 42-26 in the final 20 minutes.

The key stat of the game was three-pointers with West LA hitting 13-of-30 from behind the arc while the Dons attempted 14 while connecting on just four. Neither team shot well from the field with SAC shooting 32.6% and the Wildcats shooting 37.9%.

West LA also took advantage of 22 SAC turnovers as the Wildcats turned them into 22 points. The Dons, however, won the battle in the paint as they outscored West LA 20-14.

Du'Juan Williams led the Dons with 16 points while Ramez Michail added another 11 points. West LA's DeAndre Brown led all scorers with 20 points as he hit four out of the five three-pointers he took.

Next for the Dons is Long Beach City College at home on December 2 at 5:30 PM.
