SANTA ANA - The used a big second half, and a record-tying performance from Kyle Kintzle, to defeat visiting Orange Coast College 75-50 in an Orange Empire Conference game. The win improves the Dons 10-9 on the season and 2-2 in conference while Orange Coast falls to 4-12 overall and 2-2 in conference.

After taking a six-point lead into the half, the Dons nearly doubled up the Pirates in the second half as they outscored OCC 39-20 in the final 20 minutes. That offensive explosion was led by Kintzle who hit six of his nine three-pointers in the second half. Kintzle's nine three-pointers tie a SAC record as he joins Tyre Thompson (2007) and Steve Moore (2001) as the only three players to accomplish the feat.

The first half was a different story as the teams played to six ties with 11 lead changes. The Dons took the lead for good at 29-28 with 4:11 to go in the first half on an Isaiah Chennault layup. He would also convert a free throw after being fouled on the play to put the Dons up 30-28. SAC would go on to take a 36-30 lead into the half.

The second half opened with quickly extending their lead to 41-30 as they scored the first five points before building their lead to 19 points with 12 minutes left in the game. The Dons largest lead of the game, 26 points, came in the final minute on Kintzle's two free throws.

Kintzle finished with his nine three-pointers and a pair of free throws to score a game-high 29 points followed by Du'Juan Williams with 13 points. Kintzle and Williams were the only two players in the game to score in double digits.
