Dons Unable to Match Long Beach's Three-Pointers in 92-70 Loss

SANTA ANA - The Dons dropped their final home game of non-conference action 92-70 to Long Beach City College. The visiting Vikings (5-3) hit 17 three-pointers in the game while the Dons (4-6) were held to just five.

Despite Long Beach taking a lead as large as 14 points in the first half, the Dons were able to go into halftime down just seven points at 41-34. That came after the Dons outshot Long Beach 43% to 40%, but the Vikings made five more three-pointers in the first half.

The Vikings hot shooting from behind the arc continued in the second half as Long Beach built its lead to as large as 27 points. In total Long Beach hit 31 shots, 17 from three-point range while the Dons hit 24 field goals.

Ramez Michail led the Dons with 16 points in the losing effort and was joined by Justin Bryan with 11 points as the only two SAC players in double digits. Long Beach's Chris Spencer led all scorers with 18 points while three Vikings, Brandon Staton, Elijah Gaines and Andre Springer each scored 16 points.
