Wrestling Finishes Sixth at State to End Season

FRESNO - With six of their seven competing wrestlers placing, the Dons racked up 61.5 team points to finish in sixth place at the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships held at Fresno City College.

The Dons top placer, Eric Roberts, had to defeat his own teammate to claim third place. Roberts defeated Arman Fayyazi 9-5 at 165-pounds as Fayyazi joined Roberts on the podium in fourth place. Two other Dons also took fourth place with Andrew Gomez finishing fourth at 141-pounds while Landon Myers finished fourth at 157-pounds.

Ty Freeman finished sixth at 184-pounds while Tristan Steinman finished eighth at 149-pounds to round out the placers for SAC.

Sacramento City College won the overall team title followed by Fresno City College in second and Cerritos College in third. Palomar College and Mt. San Antonio College rounded out the top-five team finishers.
