Vince Silva to be Inducted Into National Wrestling Hall of Fame

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana College Head Wrestling Coach Vince Silva has been selected as one of the 10 individuals that will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame - California Chapter on Saturday, October 15th. 

Silva joins a star-studded class of hall of famers after 22 years of leading the Santa Ana wrestling program. In his time with the Dons, he has collected various awards including California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Head Coach of the Year during the program's state championship runs in 2005 and 2009. 

At 136 career dual wins, Silva sits at 4th most among active coaches in California and 13th all-time in the state.

He was also inducted into the California Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2015.

Prior to being named the head coach at SAC, Silva served as an assistant with the Dons as well as the University of Minnesota and the University of Nebraska. 

Silva attended the University of Oklahoma State where he received his bachelor's degree, and earned All-America honors twice while leading the Cowboys to a Big-8 championship in 1988.

The induction ceremony will be held at Laguna Hills Community Center on Saturday, October 15th at 6:00 p.m.
