Dons Have a Pair of Top-3 Finishers for Men and Women at Palomar

SAN DIEGO - The Dons men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2014 season with a pair of individuals finishing third place. Azahalea Vazquez took third place in the women's race while Pedro Antunez grabbed the same spot in the men's race.

As a team, the women took third place finishing behind a pair of Orange Empire Conference teams while the men took fourth place, again behind two OEC teams as well as Cuyamaca College.

In the women's race, Jazmin Avila was the next top-finisher for the Dons as she finished seventh overall while Elisa Mendez finished 10th. Yesenia Velez finished 16th and Xiomara Duenas rounded out the Dons five finishers in 29th place.

Following Antunez in the men's race was Rafael Godinez in 13th, just ahead of Adrian Delgado in 16th place. Edward Chanon finished 22nd and Carlos Otiniano was the Dons final scorer in 26th place. Adrian Hernandez and Jorge Diaz finished in 30th and 25th place, respectively.
