Santa Ana Men’s Cross Country Caps the 2022 Season with a 17th Place Finish at State 

FRESNO, Calif. - The Santa Ana Men's Cross Country team capped the 2022 season with a trip to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships on November 19th at Woodward Park in Fresno.

Santa Ana took 17th overall with a score of 478 against the best teams in the state. It was the first time since 2018 that the Don men had qualified for state as a team. 

Aldo Trujillo ran his last race in a Santa Ana uniform and placed 37th overall with a time of 21:12.7. Jesus Espinoza, the second to come in for the Dons, finished 113th at a time of 22:31.3. 

Clocking in at 22:54.1 was Matthew Seminiano, placing 130th while Bryce Tanikawa trailed close behind with a 135th place finish at a time of 22:58.1. 

Jean Rico took 158th place with a 23:43.5 race time and Eder Diaz followed at 24:07.8, good for 164th place. Rounding out the group was Zahid Sadat, who earned 170th with a time of 24:32.5. 

The Dons will say goodbye to sophomores Trujillo, Tanikawa and Diaz but look forward to bringing back some promising freshmen and a new recruiting class for the 2023 season.
