Guillermo Sanchez Leads the Dons to a 6-0 Win in Final Regular Season Game

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Guillermo Sanchez was dominant on the mound in the Santa Ana Baseball team's last regular season home game of the season, as he went seven scoreless innings to lead the Dons to a 6-0 win over Riverside College on Thursday afternoon.

Sanchez earned his fifth win of the season and picked up four strikeouts as the Dons improved to 26-13 overall and 10-10 in conference play.

The Dons runs came in two's, as they posted two runs in the second, third and eighth innings.

In the second, Adam Cendejas singled to right center field to drive in Bryan Leef and Justin Mellano. Next inning Nathan Flores added on to the lead with a RBI double down the right field line, then Erick Leef scored on a Tiger error to extend the lead to 4-0.

After Sanchez cruised through seven innings, Gabe Armstrong came out of the bullpen to finish for the Dons. In just two innings, Armstrong fanned four batters and allowed no hits, to improve his ERA to 2.83 on the season.

Santa Ana will finish their three-game series against the Tigers on the road on Friday, Apr. 28th at 2:00 PM.
