Dons Shutout 7-0, Drop Series to Canyons

SANTA ANA, Calif. – It was a tough day for the Santa Ana College baseball team as it struggled to execute on both sides of the field, resulting in a 7-0 loss to the College of the Canyons Cougars.

The Dons couldn't find a rhythm against Canyons' submarine arm in Brendan Henry, coming up with just three hits all game. Meanwhile, the Cougars jumped on the Dons early to go up 4-0 in the first inning.

Dane Baker got the start for SAC but lasted just one inning with four runs (two earned) before the bullpen took over. The Dons used six more arms and held the Cougars to three runs in the last eight innings. All but two of the Cougar's seven runs were earned as the Dons committed four errors throughout the game.

With the win, Canyons takes the series 2-1 and improves to 8-8 overall while the Dons drop to 10-4.
