Rosas Throws Second No-Hitter of the Year, Dons Win 8-0

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Emily Rosas shut down the Orange Coast Pirates (2-7, 0-4) on Wednesday afternoon to record her second no-hitter of the year while lifting the Santa Ana softball team to an 8-0 win.

The pitcher out of Villa Park High struck out three in five innings of work, improving her record to 6-3 and ERA to 1.75 in 68 innings pitched.

Santa Ana got a big day at the plate from Andrea Uriarte, a freshman out of Godinez High, as she went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Uriarte singled in the first to drive home the first run of the afternoon and followed that with an inside the park homer down the left field line in the third.

Airilin Ramirez and Madelyn Holzberg continued to produce as they both added two hits while combining for three runs batted in.

SAC picked up another Orange Empire Conference win, moving to a record of 10-6, 3-3, which puts them in a three-way tie for third place after Fullerton lost to Saddleback 3-0 on Wednesday.
