SANTA ANA - The Dons season opener didn't go as planned as they dropped their non-conference game to visiting Palomar College 99-47. When these two teams met last season, the Dons enjoyed an overtime win at Palomar in their second game of the season.

The Dons (0-1) struggled shooting the ball as they were held to just 20% from the field and 8% from three-point range while the Comets (1-0) shot 53% from the field and 38% from threes. Palomar outscored SAC 46-29 in the first half before improving on that in the second half with a 53-18 half.

Jamease Paige led the Dons in scoring with eight points despite playing in foul trouble while Jordan Celia Duran and Roberson-McCanless added seven points apiece.

Next up for the Dons is a road game at Long Beach City College on November 11 before returning home to host Santa Monica College on November 13. Game time next Thursday at SAC is 7:00 PM.
