Dons Hold Off El Camino for 94-90 Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Freshman forward Kaden Minter had another big night as he led the Santa Ana College Men's Basketball team to a 94-90 win over the El Camino Warriors (1-2) in non-conference action on Wednesday night. 

Minter finished with 28 points, hitting six threes on 11-of-20 shooting while adding seven rebounds, five rebounds, four assists and three blocks. 

The Dons (2-1) led by as much as 20 and managed to hold off the Warriors despite a late run.

Sophomore guard Cam Johnson was crucial down the stretch as he recorded 20 of his 23 points in the second half. The guard from Dallas went 12-of-14 from the stripe including some clutch ones in the final minutes of play. 

SAC also got good production from freshman guard Mac West, who had an emphatic dunk in the second half to cap a 13 point night. Zeyu Shan added 10 points, three rebounds and a couple blocks while Terron Toney racked up eight assists to run the show for the Dons. 

As a team, Santa Ana shot just over 50 percent from the field and had a balanced attack as they got 41 points from their bench.

The Dons will host once again on Monday when they face the Chaffey Panthers (2-1). The Panthers suffered their first loss on Wednesday night, falling 90-82 against Santiago Canyon College.
