Dons Fall Short of Last Minute Comeback, Fall to RCC 70-68

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Despite making a last minute comeback in their Orange Empire Conference matchup against the Riverside City College Tigers (5-13, 2-4), the Santa Ana Men's Basketball team came up short with a 70-68 loss on Wednesday night.

The Dons (7-11, 1-5) went on a 7-0 run in a span of 39 seconds to tie the score at 68-68 with 13 seconds left on the clock. But the Tigers attacked the rim on their  last possession and scored on a tip-in, taking the lead and leaving just two seconds for SAC.

A heave from Kaden Minter to Sam Aryan led to a fadeaway shot that just missed its mark, giving Riverside a win after a highly competitive game.

Minter scored a game high for Santa Ana with 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Zeke Bennett came off the bench to add 13 and two assists on 4-of-5 shooting while Court Franklin recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 boards.

SAC will travel to Orange Coast for another OEC contest and a chance to snap their three game losing streak on Friday, January 19th. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
