Santa Ana Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 5 in the State

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – After week one of the soccer season, the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) has posted its first men's soccer poll of the year.

Santa Ana comes in at number five after going 3-0 in the first week. They are the second highest ranked team in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC), just behind Fullerton College who is ranked number one.

The Dons are firing on all cylinders with nine total goals on four assists in three games, which ranks them tied for seventh in the state in goals.

Freshman standout Jesus Nunez has been the X-factor for the Dons thus far, scoring five of their nine goals while sophomore mid-fielder Miguel Gomez has helped lead the charge with his two goals, two assists and a game-winner against College of the Desert.

Santa Ana will be on the road for their next two games, traveling to LA Harbor College on Friday, September 7th at 4:00 p.m. and then to No. 13 Santiago Canyon the following Friday for their first OEC match of the season.
