Dons Fall 4-3 Following Last Minute Goal

SANT ANA, Calif. - Santa Ana Men's Soccer conceded a goal during the last minute of extra time in their match against LA Mission College, resulting in a 4-3 loss on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a very entertaining game as the two teams went back and forth all match.

The Dons were the first to strike as Marck Rayo was credited with a goal that slipped through the goalkeepers hands in the 7th minute of play.

In the 23rd minute, LA Mission evened things up on a goal by Diego Rodriguez. The score would remain tied at 1-1 at halftime.

Just six minutes after the break, the Dons capitalized on a corner kick to put themselves back ahead. Rayo posted his second assist of the season as Paul Carrillo headed a ball into the back of the net.

But the Eagles responded yet again with another goal in the 59th minute followed by the go-head in the 70th minute.

Santa Ana continued the back and forth trend by answering the call just over a minute later when Vincent Lopez dribbled straight through the middle of the field and curved a shot into the lower right corner to score his first goal of the season, tying the game at 3-3.

The last 20 minutes of action seemed even but LAMC continued to attack the Don defense down to the last minute, which paid off as they scored their fourth goal to take the win.

The Dons will be back at home on Friday to host Palomar College in another non-conference match at 4:00 p.m
