No. 14 Santa Ana Ends Season with 2-0 Overtime Loss to No. 3 Norco

NORCO, Calif. - The No. 14 seeded Santa Ana College Men's Soccer team went toe to toe with No. 3 Norco College (14-1-5) in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs on Saturday afternoon.

SAC (9-7-6) held their own throughout the game with a shooting advantage of 13-9 while matching them in corner kicks with three a piece.

Unfortunately, none of those shots made it into the Norco Mustang net which led to overtime.

The Mustangs took the lead about five minutes into overtime on a long cross that was headed in by Vinicius Gonçalves.

Norco scored once more in the second overtime period to give the Mustangs full control.

The match was then suspended due to unfortunate crowd control issues, ending the Dons season in the first round of the playoffs.

SAC will have to reset for 2024 with 12 sophomores set to graduate.
