Dons Take 5th Place as a Team while Five Wrestlers Medal at Meathead Movers

The Dons traveled to Cuesta College to compete in the Meathead Movers Tournament. As a team, the Dons took fifth place overall while five of their 12 wrestlers placed in the tournament.

Joaquin Collister and Micah Macias led the way with each wrestler finishing in second place in his respective weight class. Collister made it to the final match with a technical fall, a fall and a win by disqualification before suffering a two-point loss. Macias used a technical fall and a pair of majority decisions to qualify for the finals.

Raul Hernandez took third place with a majority decision in the consolation finals while Richard Miranda used a 6-2 win in his consolation final to also take third place. Rounding out the Dons medalists was Ronnie Collister who took fourth place after bouncing back from an opening round loss to win three-straight to make it to the consolation final.

The Dons racked up 58 team points, finishing just behind Chabot College. Palomar College won the tournament with 105 points with Mt. San Antonio College finishing second with 97.5 points. Tournament host Cuesta College took third place with 79.5 points.
