SANTA ANA - Three goals in 16 minutes decided the Dons non-conference match against Oxnard College. And just like last year, the Dons came out of the game victorious with a 2-1 win, improving them to 1-0-1 on the season while Oxnard falls to 1-2-0.

Jorge Muratalla opened scoring in the 14th minute when he gathered the rebound of a Samuel Pradervand shot, giving him a wide open goal to score on. But Oxnard would come back in the 19th minute with the equalizing goal when Jaime Alvardo scored after both teams failed to control the ball in front of the goal.

A little over 10 minutes later, with the Oxnard coaches warning their defense to "watch number six," Jesus Lopez was able to out-jump everyone else on Jesse Rodriguez-Vazquez's cross and head in the game-winning goal.

The Dons defense did the rest from there, keeping the Condors from scoring for the match's final 60 minutes. Part of that defense was Dennis Hernandez who turned away three of the four shots he faced.

Next up for the Dons is their first road trip when they travel to East Los Angeles College on Tuesday, September 9 at 2:00 p.m.
