Neal Leads Santa Ana to 6-2 Win Against Santiago Canyon

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Katie Neal did it all for the Santa Ana Softball team on Tuesday as the freshman pitcher gave up just two runs over seven innings while also driving in the go ahead runs with a two RBI double in the sixth inning.

The Dons (10-12, 6-4) went on to take a 6-2 win over Santiago Canyon (9-13, 2-5) to earn their sixth Orange Empire Conference (OEC) win and stay in third place in the standings.

Sierra Griego came up big in the leadoff spot, going 2-for-3 with three runs and a walk. The sophomore out of Diamond Bar High not only got the Don offense going when they needed it but also anchored the defense with two assists on the day.

The Dons were able to break the game open in the sixth with Neal's double followed by clutch at bats from Alyssa Armijo and Jojo Westerfield

Santa Ana will be back in action on Wednesday as they are set to face No. 4 Cypress on the road. First pitch is set for 2:00 barring any weather delays.
