Santa Ana Softball Celebrates Sophomores, Falls to OCC

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The Santa Ana Softball team hosted the Orange Coast Pirates (14-19, 10-10) in their final regular season home game of the season on Monday afternoon.

The Dons battled but ultimately lost the contest by a score of 3-1, pushing them to fifth place in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) standings.

Although the game didn't go the way they wanted, the Dons still celebrated as they sent off their sophomores Jojo Westerfield, Jayleena Perez, Nyah Veals and Sierra Griego prior to the game.

Santa Ana still has work to do as they are set to go on the road for the season finale against No. 19 Santiago Canyon. The season series is tied at 1-1 between the two teams. The Dons are in need of a win as they still seek to land a playoff spot next week.
