SANTA ANA - The Dons opened the 2013 season, and their new soccer field, with a 1-0 loss to visiting Moorpark College. Despite the 1-0 score, the Dons dominated scoring opportunities 4-1 but were unable to find the back of the net.

Both Tiffany Martinez and Syprus Ohanesian had had early scoring opportunities in the first 15 minutes but each of their shots went wide of the goal. Vivian Garcia put the first shot on goal in the sixth minute, but it was saved by Moorpark's keeper.

It wasn't until five minutes into the second half that the first goal of the new soccer facility was scored. Holding that honor is Bricela Meza who took a cross from Samantha Corbin and played it off her chest into the goal, providing the difference maker for the Raiders.

Priscilla Suarez allowed the lone goal for the Dons while adding four saves in 90 minutes. Tia Fortuna helped lead the Raiders to their second-straight shutout win over the Dons with three saves in 90 minutes. These teams opened the season last year, with Moorpark claiming a 3-0 victory.

Next up for the Dons is their first road trip of the season when they travel to East Los Angeles College on September 3.
