Dons Fall to Saddleback College 2-0, Remain Winless in OEC Play

SANTA ANA - With the aid of an effective counter-attack, the Saddleback Gauchos handed the Dons a 2-0 loss in an Orange Empire Conference match. The Dons fall to 2-5-1 on the season and 0-2-1 in conference play with the loss while Saddleback earned its first OEC win, making the Gauchos 5-2-1 and 1-1-1.

The Gauchos first goal came in the 39th minute when Jennifer Kraska slipped a pass through the Dons defense, finding Danyelle Allen for a quick shot and the goal. Allen scored Saddleback's second goal as well, this time set up by a long pass over the Dons defense by Allison Yancey.

The game could have been more lopsided were it not for the play of Priscilla Suarez and the defense in front of her. Suarez made eight saves for the Dons in 90 minutes of action while the Dons defense stopped several attacks by the Gauchos. On the other side, Alexendria Scott turned away all three shots she faced for the Gauchos.
