Andeel Leads Dons to 10-0 Shutout Over ELAC

Santa Ana, Calif. - Jaxton Andeel led Santa Ana Baseball (2-1) to a shutout win as the Dons defeated the East Los Angeles Huskies (1-2), 10-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Andeel, a freshman lefty from Orange Lutheran, struck out four in as many innings to earn the win in his SAC debut. Hauze Fragoso came on in relief and fanned three batters in two innings and was followed by Joey Iglesias, who recorded one strikeout in an inning of work. CJ Brown and Noe Novella capped off the game with each throwing shutout innings.

Offensively, the Dons came to life in the third inning after Marc Schavone put them on the board with an RBI triple down the right field line to score Ryann Stock. Mario Tostado tacked on a run as the sophomore muscled a ball off the right center field fence for an RBI double.

After Jared Anderson worked a walk, Michael Poot got an RBI the hard way as he was hit by a pitch to bring in the third run. Santa Ana scored once more in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Matthew Dobson, making it a 4-0 game.

SAC went on to score two more in the sixth before opening up the game with a four run seventh inning.

The Dons saw the middle of their lineup produce in a big way as Stock, Schavone and Tostado recorded two hits each while combining for four runs batted in and two walks.

Santa Ana improves to 2-1 with the win and will prepare to travel North for the Reedly College Tournament starting on Thursday.
