SANTA ANA - The Dons woes continued today with a 6-2 loss to Fullerton College in an Orange Empire Conference game. The loss is the Dons fourth straight and drops their overall record to 7-14 and their OEC record to 2-6 while Fullerton improves to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in conference.

Tina Ramos started the game off on a positive note with a leadoff single before scoring on a RBI-single by Christina McCullogh to put the Dons up 1-0 early. That was followed by Desiree Hernandez facing the minimum number of batters through three innings, with a pair of double plays erasing the only two baserunners she allowed on base.

Fullerton, however, got its offense going in the third inning with three runs, just one earned, on three hits to take a 3-1 lead while taking advantage of a SAC error. The Hornets added three more runs in the sixth inning, including a solo home run by Becca Perez, to take a 6-1 lead.

The Dons second run came across in the fourth inning with McCullogh hitting a one-out double before scoring when Allison Benitez reached on an error. McCullogh finished the game 3-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored.

Hernandez (5-9) took the loss as she allowed all six runs, four earned, on eight hits over seven innings. Brigid Ruiz (12-7) allowed two unearned runs on five hits to earn the complete game win.
