After finishing in a three-way tie for third place in the Orange Empire Conference, the Dons softball team qualified for the 2016 California Community College Athletic Association Softball Southern Regional Playoffs. The #13 Dons will play at #4 Palomar College this Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8, in a best-two-out-of-three series.

Game one of the series takes place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 with the series continuing on Sunday, May 8 for game two at 12:00 p.m. If necessary, a third game will be played on Sunday as well.

Palomar grabbed the #4-seed after finishing perfect in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference with an 18-0 record. The Comets posted a 33-5 overall record that included an 8-1 win over the Dons on March 22, at Palomar College.

Out of the Orange Empire Conference, the Dons were one of four teams to qualify for the postseason behind #1 Cypress College, #2 Santiago Canyon College and #10 Fullerton College.
