SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana College Volleyball team picked up a couple of wins while hosting the 2017 Orange Empire Conference Quad on Friday afternoon. The Dons jump to 5-2 overall after sweeping Chaffey and Rio Hondo College.

In the first match against Chaffey College, the Dons spread the ball around to showcase many of their weapons. Eight different Dons tallied a kill in the match as they took the win convincingly, 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-16).

The second match of the day for the Dons had more of the same, as they swept Rio Hondo 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-22). Mikelle Taylor finished with 10 kills and six digs, while Uchenna Ozokwo racked up seven kills and two digs.

Setter Taylor Hernandez had herself a day with 27 assists and 13 digs against Rio Hondo and 26 assist and 4 digs versus Chaffey.

Santa Ana will travel to Southwestern College on Wednesday, Sept. 13^th to conclude their preseason. Then they will start Orange Empire Conference play on Friday, Sept. 15^th against Saddleback College at home.
