Celeste Hernandez Pitches the Dons to a 7-0 Win Over Golden West

SANTA ANA, Calif. – Celeste Hernandez was lights out on the mound, striking out 12 batters and giving up only one hit in seven innings to lead the Dons to a win over Golden West College on Tuesday afternoon.

The freshman's no-hitter was spoiled in the third, but she stayed the course and shutout the Rustlers for the rest of the game.

In the second inning, the Santa Ana offense woke up and scored four of their seven total runs. Hernandez got things going with a RBI single to bring home the first run, then Kasey Hutton drove in two more with another single up the middle. Megan Craft scored the last run of the inning after a Golden West wild pitch.

The Dons put up three more runs later in the game, one coming from a Craft single, and two from Golden West mistakes.

Santa Ana has won four out of their last five games, bringing them to a record of 17-13 overall, and 6-7 in conference play. Next, the Dons hit the road for a conference matchup against Saddleback College on April 5th at 3:00 PM.
