Dons Defeat the Lancers for Another Non-Conference Win

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Santa Ana Softball team worked its way to another non-conference win on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Pasadena City College 6-3 to improve to 23-15 overall.

After the first inning, the Dons found themselves down 2-0 but would change the momentum with a three-run second.

Phoenix Ferrell got things rolling with a triple down the right field line, then Blanca Aguayo sprayed another triple down the line to put a run on the board for the Dons. Next up was Kasey Hutton who beat out a throw from the Lancer shortstop to earn a RBI single. Megan Craft added another triple, this time down the left field line, to drive Hutton home and give Santa Ana the lead.

The Dons brought home a couple more runs in the fourth to give them a cushion with a 5-2 lead. Each team added a run in the sixth but the Dons would go on to take the win 6-3.

Celeste Hernandez and Phoenix Ferrell combined to give up three runs, none earned, four hits and finished with six strikeouts. Ferrell earned her fourth win of the season, while Celeste recorded her first save.

Santa Ana will host Saddleback College on Sophomore Day and its last regular season game on Wednesday, Apr. 26th. at 3:00 PM.
