SANTA ANA, Calif. –The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) has released the list of its 2017 Post-Season Awards.
On that list was Dons sophomore Kasey Hutton, who was named a 2017 All-American to add to her tremendous season. In the process, Hutton was also rewarded with a spot on the 2017 All-SoCal team and took home the New Balance NFCA / Golden Shoe award for California Junior Colleges, which is awarded to the player with the most stolen bases in the regular season.
Hutton broke the Santa Ana College single-season record and led the state with 50 stolen bases. The speedy utility player also ranked fourth in the state in total hits with 65, at a batting average of .481 in the regular season.
She has also excelled academically during her time at Santa Ana College, as she was honored as a Scholar-Athlete in every semester and was named one the 2017 SAC Hall of Fame Scholarship Recipients.
The sophomore from Mira Costa High School is majoring in communications and is considering attending the University of Illinois and Loyola University-Chicago.
