SANTA ANA - The Dons completed their two-game sweep of Mt. San Antonio College with a 7-3 home win after defeating the Mounties 10-2 at Mt. SAC on Thursday. The win improves the Dons to 11-1 on the season with just one non-conference game remaining while Mt. SAC falls to 5-7.

Both team's leadoff hitters scored in the first inning with Mt. SAC's Dallas Reed hitting a leadoff double before scoring on a RBI-single by Matthew Majher. Tommy Anderson answered for the Dons when he hit the first pitch he saw for a triple before scoring on the very next pitch on a wild pitch.

Anderson broke the 1-1 tie in the third inning when he scored on another wild pitch before Chris Major singled in Colin Winn. Andrew Ramos capped off the three-run third inning when he reached on an error, allowing Patrick Cromwell to score from second.

After Mt. SAC cut the lead to just one at 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning, the Dons scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-3 lead. Justin Mellano scored the first run on a RBI-single by Cromwell before Winn scored on a sacrifice fly by Major. Cromwell came around to score the final run of the game on a RBI-single by Jeff Murray.

Daniel Garcia (3-0) got the win as he held Mt. SAC to three runs, two earned, on eight hits over 8.1 innings of work. Andrew Hodges got the final two outs of the game with a strikeout and a flyout to right field. For Mt. SAC, Daniel Diaz (0-1) took the loss as he allowed all seven runs, four earned, on nine hits over seven innings.
