Dons Unable to Generate Offense in Loss to Fullerton

SANTA ANA - After opening the season undefeated at home, the Dons are still seeking their first home win in Orange Empire Conference play after losing to Fullerton College 14-2. The loss drops the Dons to 14-3 overall and 2-2 in conference while Fullerton improves the 14-2 while remaining undefeated in OEC play at 4-0.

The Hornets jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning before extended their lead to 5-0 on a Justin Row home run in the fourth inning. Fullerton added two more runs in the fifth inning before the Dons managed to score their first run.

It was Austin Pritchard that finally broke through for the Dons with a solo home run in the fifth inning before Tommy Anderson plated Andrew Ramos with a sacrifice fly to make the game 7-2 after five innings.

Fullerton would go on to score two more runs in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Josh Balbuena before the Hornets added five more runs in the seventh inning to make the score 14-2.

Daniel Garcia (3-1) got his first loss of the season as he allowed four runs on five hits while recording just one out. Fullerton's Randall Ortiz (4-1) pitched seven innings while allowing two runs on six outs.
