Dons Offense Struggles in 6-1 Loss to Golden West

SANTA ANA - The Dons lost the second game of their series with Golden West College 6-1 as they were held to just four hits. The loss drops the Dons to 16-13 on the season and 3-11 in conference while Golden West improves to 20-9 overall and 9-5 in conference.

The Rustlers opened scoring with two runs in the third inning before the Dons cut that lead in half when Thomas Blood scored on a RBI-groundout by Patrick Cromwell in the bottom of the third. But Golden West would come back with four runs, two earned, in the fourth inning to take the 6-1 lead that would hold to the final score.

Dalton Rasmussen (2-4) took the loss as he allowed five runs, four earned, on seven hits in 3.2 innings. Tyler Tungate (6-1) got the win for Golden West as he allowed just the one run on four hits over eight innings with seven strikeouts.
