SANTA ANA, Calif. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Santa Ana College Women's Soccer team hosted the Fullerton Hornets in another Orange Empire Conference match.
The Dons were looking for an upset against the first-place team in the OEC but fell behind on a goal in the 74th minute to fall 1-0.
After the loss, Santa Ana sits at 6-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while the Hornets improved to 7-1-2 overall and 4-0-2 in conference.
It seemed like the Dons were just unlucky, giving up a goal on one of the few opportunities they let the Hornets have.
With the total shots of each team being tied at 9 and Santa Ana leading the corner kick category 4-2, the Dons did not look like an underdog at all.
It was an unfortunate loss but the Dons will refocus and set their eyes on their next OEC match at Cypress College on Friday, Oct. 6th at 3:00 p.m.
