Dons Put Away Six Goals to Earn Seventh Win of Season

SANTA ANA, Calif. – With six goals against Norco College on Friday afternoon, the Santa Ana College Women's Soccer team broke its streak of scoreless matches and earned its seventh win of the season.

Santa Ana improves to 7-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play while the Mustangs drop to 2-11 and 0-8.

The Dons were in control right from the start, scoring their first goal in the 15th minute off a shot from Linda Gutierrez. Goal number two came just three minutes later when Reyna Campos put away a shot from about 30 yards out. Santa Ana started to pile it on after that, scoring two more goals in the first half and then a couple more in the second.

Linda Frias recorded a hat trick with three goals for the Dons while Gutierrez just missed her second hat trick of the season with two goals on the day.

The Dons will go on the road for their next match on Tuesday, Oct. 17 against Saddleback College.
