Dons Shut Out 7-0 by Riverside City College for 10th Straight Loss

SANTA ANA – The Dons struggles continue as they drop their 10th-straight game with a 7-0 loss to Riverside City College. The loss drops the Dons to 11-13-1 overall and 2-10 in conference while Riverside is now 17-8 overall and 5-7 in conference.

The Tigers grabbed the lead early with Brody Weiss hitting the fourth pitch of the game for a solo home run. Riverside would add a second run in the seventh before breaking out for five runs, on five hits, in the eighth inning.

For the Dons, only Julio Garcia, twice, and Alex Mascarenas made it past first base as the team was held to just five hits. Garcia made it to third once, but was left stranded in the eighth inning.

Kevin Clementi (0-1) took the loss after giving up the first run of the game. The solo home run was the only hit he allowed in his two innings of work. Matthew Grier pitched well for the Dons in relief. He finished with 3.2 innings of work while allowing just two hits with three strikeouts.

But Riverside's Tyler Rowe (2-2) had the best performance as he held the Dons scoreless on four hits over 7.2 innings with three strikeouts.
