Dons Fall to Fullerton College 4-1 as OEC Competition Resumes

SANTA ANA – The Dons dropped a 4-1 decision to Fullerton College today for their second loss of the season to the Hornets. The loss drops the Dons to 12-16-1 overall and 2-12 in conference while Fullerton improves to 19-10 overall and 8-6 in conference.

The Hornets scored their first run in the second inning on a Shane Carrier sacrifice fly that scored Oscar Heredia before Jeffrey Murray drove in Carrier in the fifth inning on a RBI-single. Fullerton added a pair of unearned runs in the seventh inning with Anthony Seminaris singling in Murray before Heredia plated Seminaris on a fielder's choice.

The Dons lone run came across in the eighth inning with Nestor Linares scoring when Cameron Baranek reached on an error. Linares reached earlier in the inning on a double to left-centerfield.

Andy Weddle (3-5) took the loss for the Dons after allowing two runs on four hits in 4.1 innings of work. Fullerton's Dylan Prohoroff (8-2) got the win as he held the Dons to one run, unearned, on five hits over eight innings of work. Nico Castaneda got the save as he allowed just one hit in the ninth inning.
