SANTA ANA - The Dons opened their 2013 campaign, as well as their new facility, with a 2-0 win over visiting Los Angeles Mission College.

The distinction of the first goal by a Dons player goes to Leonardo Contreras who took a pass from Orlando Guardado at the top of the box before firing a shot past Mission's keeper in the 14th minute. The goal was Leonardo Contreras' first of the season as well as his first goal since November 12, 2010 when he scored a pair of goals against Irvine Valley College.

The Dons added their second goal of the game in the 80th minute when the other Contreras brother, Remigio Contreras, sent a cross to the near post that found Luis Venegas who headed the ball in for a goal.

In goal for the Dons was Luis Trujillo who turned away all six shots he faced in 90 minutes to pick up the shutout win. His counterpart, Alejandro Chavez, made four saves in 90 minutes while allowing both goals.

The Dons travel to Rio Hondo College on Thursday, August 29 for their next game.
