SANTA ANA - With two late goals, the Dons finished non-conference competition with a 3-1 win over Pasadena City College. The teams played to a 1-1 tie at the half before the Dons offense came through with a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes.

The Dons struck first in the 15th minute when Ivan Bastida carried the ball down to the end line and made a pass back to the front of the goal where he found Jose Angulo who quickly shot and scored.

Pasadena City answered 11 minutes later when Diego Rodriguez sent a pass over the Dons defense to the far post where Zack Larson headed the ball in for the equalizing goal.

The tie was finally broken in the 67th minute when Angulo slipped a pass through the Lancers defense to Luis Venegas who beat the goalkeeper for the Dons go-ahead goal. The Dons added a third goal in the 74th minute when Venegas set up Omar Perez on the far post. Perez' shot deflected off a defender and into the goal.

Luis Trujillo played all 90 minutes in goal for the Dons, making three saves while allowing the one goal. For Pasadena City, Alex Radillo made four saves with three goals allowed in 90 minutes.

The Dons now have a break before opening Orange Empire Conference on October 1 at home against Cypress College.
