SANTA ANA - In just the second game on their new field, the Dons suffered their first loss at home in a 3-2 defeat at the hands of San Bernardino Valley College in a non-conference match.

The Wolverines (4-0-1) scored the game's first two goals in the 22nd and 28th minutes, respectively.  Alex Turkson scored the first goal on a penalty kick before Anthony Castaneda took a long pass from Brian Aguilar to get past the Dons defense and score one-on-one against the goalkeeper.

Chris Cruz put the Dons (3-2-0) on the board in the 30th minute when he scored on a rebound on his own penalty kick. The first attempt was successfully saved by the Wolverines keeper. However, the ball wasn't controlled and bounced back to Cruz who buried it into the back of the net.

But the Wolverines would go up by two goals again in the 67th minute when Roberto Duran found the rebound of a Turkson shot and scored a goal to put SBVC up 3-1. Minutes later, Cruz took a cross from Ivan Bastida and lifted a header over the Wolverines keeper to pull the Dons within one in the 73rd minute.

But the Dons were never able to find the equalizer as the Wolverines held on for the 3-2 victory. Victor Silva II made four saves for San Bernardino to secure the win while Luis Trujillo and David Sorto shared time in goal for the Dons. Trujillo made two saves in 56 minutes before Sorto made one save in the final 34 minutes.
