SAN BERNARDINO - The Dons avenged their only home loss of the season by returning the favor with a 2-1 overtime victory over #2 San Bernardino Valley College in the Southern Regional Finals of the California Community College Athletic Association Southern Regional Playoffs.

The win sends the #3 Dons to the State Championships held December 6 and 8 at Cosumnes River College. The Dons opponent in the semi finals on Friday, December 6, is to be determined.

In today's victory, the Dons went up 1-0 in the 13th minute when Luis Venegas headed in an Antonio Solis free kick, following a San Bernardino Valley foul.

The host Wolverines scored the equalizer in the 60th minute, ultimately sending the game into overtime.

It was in the 113th minute, with just seven minutes remaining in the match, that Leonardo Contreras scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Danny Fernandez

Luis Trujillo continued his strong play in the postseason as he made seven saves for the Dons in 120 minutes. Trujillo has now allowed just two goals in 300 minutes of playoff soccer.

Joining the Dons as the other south representative in the Final Four is four-time defending State Champion Mt. San Antonio College after the Mounties defeated Cerritos College 2-1, also in overtime.
