SANTA ANA, Calif. –  Christian Gutierrez and Joseph Vasquez are the first of the 2017 Santa Ana Men's Soccer team to sign a letter of intent to move onto the next level. The two sophomores have decided to attend Kansas Wesleyan University to continue their academic and athletic careers.

Gutierrez, a midfielder out of Coast High, started 29 of the 37 total matches he played in during his Santa Ana career. He finished with two goals and two assists while having a big impact on the defensive side of the field.

Joseph Vasquez finishes his career with the Dons after starting 29 of the 33 games he played. The strong defender came out of Katella High to play for his father and Santa Ana Head Coach, Jose Vasquez.

The two will now play for Kansas Wesleyan, which is an NAIA school that competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The KWU Coyotes posted a record of 10-10, 7-4 in 2017, finishing fifth in the conference standings.
