SANTA ANA - Despite outshooting the visitors 18-7, the Dons took a 1-1 tie against Pasadena City College in their first home match of the season. While the Dons (1-0-1) managed to tally 11 more shots, it was the Lancers (0-0-1) who led the way with shots on goal as they led that statistic 3-2.

After a scoreless first half, Dong Beom Seo scored the first goal of the match in the 60th minute on a penalty kick. David Yepez set up the penalty kick as he was taken down inside the box by a Pasadena City defender.

The Lancers would answer back 15 minutes later when Oscar Vanegas controlled a loose ball in the box off a corner kick and scored, equalizing the game at 1-1 in the 75th minute. The Dons managed the only shot for the remainder of the game, but it sailed above the crossbar as the two teams played to the tie.

Andres Figueroa made two saves in goal for the Dons as he played the full match while allowing the one goal. His counterpart, Yusuf Elmasri, also played 90 minutes while making one save with one goal against.

The Dons return to action next Tuesday, September 8 when they host Rio Hondo College at 4:00 PM.
