Dons Shutout 3-0 by Irvine Valley in Final Home Match

SANTA ANA - The Dons lost their final home match of the season 3-0 to visiting Irvine Valley College in an Orange Empire Conference match. The loss drops the Dons to 7-9-4 overall and 6-5-2 in conference while Irvine Valley (13-2-5, 10-0-3) claimed the Orange Empire Conference Championship with the win.

The loss also marks just the second losing season in Santa Ana College history, with the first happening in the 1980 season when the Dons finished 5-10-1.

Irvine Valley scored its first goal in the 19th minute when Joseph Ferguson took a long pass from Scott Clark and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one. Toby Waterman had the second goal in the 51st minute on an assist by Jose Rivera before Rivera scored a goal of his own in the 78th minute on an assist by Jose Gamboa.

Andres Figueroa played all 90 minutes in goal for the Dons and made one save while IVC's Manuel Zamora made three saves for the Lasers in 90 minutes.
