SANTA ANA - Tony Alcala scored late for the Dons to give them a chance in the final minutes, but the only shot following the goal went over the cross bar as the Dons lost to Santiago Canyon College 2-1. The Orange Empire Conference loss drops the Dons to 7-8-4 overall and 6-4-2 in conference while Santiago Canyon improves to 8-5-6 overall and 6-3-3 in conference.

The Hawks scored their goals in the 23rd and 75th minutes, respectively. Fabian Cobian scored on a long shot from the upper corner of the box for the first goal before scoring again when Alberto Chavez sent a pass across the box that allowed Cobian to score on an empty goal.

Alcala tallied his goal in the 88th minute with a flying kick for the shot on a cross by Carlos Herrera. The Dons would get a look at the equalizing goal, but Dennis Maxwell-Ludkowski's shot went high as the Hawks held on for the win.

Cyrus Mohseni started for the Dons and allowed the first goal on the only shot he faced in the first half before Ismael Rivera made one save with one goal against in the second half. Ulises Serafin made six saves for the Hawks while allowing the one goal in 90 minutes.

The Dons host first-place Irvine Valley College on Tuesday in their final home match of the season before traveling to Golden West College next Friday for their final match of the season.
