SANTA ANA - After finding the tying goal in the 61st minute, the Dons surrendered a late goal in their 2-1 loss to visiting Rio Hondo College. The loss is the Dons first of the season and drops their record to 1-1-1 while Rio Hondo remains unbeaten at 4-0-1.

The Roadrunners struck first with a goal in just the eighth minute of play. After Victor Joya's shot rebounded to the front of the goal, Nicholas Knapp was able to find the back of the net and put Rio Hondo up 1-0.

Dong Beom Seo was able to tie the match at 1-1 in the 61st minute when he headed in a cross from Carlos Herrera. Seo has the only two goals scored for the Dons at home in their first two home matches. But the tie wouldn't remain as Rio Hondo found a counter attack in the 85th minute to score the go-ahead goal.

Knapp sent a pass through the Dons defense at midfield and found a streaking Joshua Cuevas who found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. After taking a touch to beat the keeper, Cuevas found the goal to put the Roadrunners ahead for good.

The Dons had several scoring opportunities throughout the match that were either blocked or sailed above the net. In total, they managed just three shots on goal, forcing Ivan Barranco to make two saves. Andres Figueroa and Ismael Rivera split time in goal for the Dons with matching stat lines of one save, one goal against and 45 minutes played.

On Friday, the Dons welcome in El Camino College for a non-conference match at 4:00 p.m.
